10 Most Expensive Lamborghinis Ever Sold

Lamborghini is a name that triggers images of ultra-luxurious superfast sports cars with incredibly striking bodywork and high sticker prices. While no Lamborghini car can be accused of being cheap, some commands 7-digit price tags that earn them spots on this list. Founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963 to compete with Ferrari, Lamborghini immediately distinguished itself with its rear mid-engined rear-wheel-drive sports cars.

Hard hit by the global financial downturn of the early ’70s, the company suffered the indignity of bankruptcy in 1978. Today, however, as part of the Audi division of the Volkswagen Group it has established itself as a luxury sports carmaker of high repute. The high-performance roadsters and racers that wear the company’s badge are noted for their head-turning design, cutting-edge technology, and blistering speed. With one feature—mind-boggling price tags—common for every car on this list, here are the most expensive Lamborghinis ever sold.
